Alcohol and Massage Therapy

For your safety, North Carolina Massage Board law allows us the right to refuse serving alcohol either prior to, or following, your massage service. Combining Massage Therapy and alcohol increases the toxic load on the body, and can impair judgment and even desensitize a person to pain. Even one drink can have a dramatic effect on the body when combined with Massage Therapy, depending on many factors, including body weight, food consumption, prior alcohol ingestion (even from the prior evening), and general physical condition. Anyone who gets massage on a regular basis knows that it can leave you feeling lightheaded and a bit wobbly, even without any type of intoxicant! Our goal is for you to have the best possible experience with your therapist!
